Don’t get intimidated by its body size and long horns because in reality carabao or water buffalo is quite friendly for kids to be near with. When I grew up, everyday I saw carabaos passing by our parents’ house attended by young kids. Sometimes (if our parents weren’t around) we, the neighborhood kids, followed them to paddy fields or river and often teased the animals by waving red cloths in front of them  .
These carabaos now have multiple roles, to help farmers plowing paddy fields and to entertain urban kids who hardly spend time playing outdoors.

It must have been fun playing with the carabao in the water! I did play with carabaos a couple of times in the province, but they were always on dry land.
My WW entry is here.

Hi EM! I am definitely intimidated by the carabou’s horns… they look sharp and can do a lot of damage huhuhuh…but they won’t go after u if u don’t disturb them, so just keep my distance if I see one he he….

Is that Evan riding the carabou? Oh so brave!
What a wonderful picture. It looks like so much fun to ride a buffalo in the water. Amazing that they are so gentle with children. I’ve seen on TV where in the wild they tracked and outsmarted a hunter who in turn became the hunted.
And here I felt exotic for having bison a couple miles from my house! Wow.
