Been having computer trouble since the weekend. Starting on Saturday morning when I heard a noise coming from my power supply fan, thought there was something caught in it, so planned to clean it up later. I still could turn it on in the evening, though the noise was still there as I hadn’t had a chance to clean it, but few minutes later I heard a soft explosion from the back of the CPU followed by burning smell. The computer’s dead!

Though we have two computers at home, and a laptop, and all are connected via LAN and have access to internet, I only use one computer for my blogging and other online activities, the one that was broken! All my data and passwords are kept there. Needless to say I tried my best to get my data back again as soon as possible.

Yesterday after changing the power supply I got the computer back on and all data are safe, but there is still one problem. I saw the RAM capacity was only 2 Gb, means one of the DDR2 got hit too. Lucky most of DDR2 now have lifetime warranty, including mine, so I called the computer shop asking if I could get a new replacement. They said I could, but they didn’t have stock yesterday so had to call back later.

Hope they get the stock soon because 2 Gb RAM are way too low for dropping ec! My FF always crashed whenever I started to open many windows at once.
