School Craft Project: Christmas Ornaments

Kids made Christmas ornaments

For this month art and craft class project the K2 kids created a simple Christmas ornament from some unused stuff they could find at home. The teachers gave some ideas of materials that could be used for this project such as paper plates, plastic glass, used wrapping papers, unused/cracked Christmas ornaments, etc., but it was up to the parents which ones they wanted to use. So the ornaments the kids made were different from each other, depends on the materials they brought from home.

Christmas lantern made of used plastic glass

For Evan I gave him a plastic glass and some pieces of unused garland found in our old parcel boxes. Then his teacher helped him to stick the garlands around the plastic glass using glue to create a shiny Christmas lantern! Nice and simple, isn’t it? You could try it with your kids too! Use wrapping papers as alternative if you don’t have garlands. They also used this method to cover cracked Christmas balls, so the old ornaments became like new.

Anyway, the lantern now hanging on our Christmas tree. It gives a nice green touch to our blue themed tree ;-)
