Last Saturday, exactly seven weeks after my mom had a corneal transplant in her right eye, we went to see her ophthalmologist for a regular check-up. After running several tests, the ophthalmologist said so far my mom’s eye was adjusting well with the new cornea, no sign of rejection as yet. Though she reminded us that the healing process following transplant could take months, even years, she also advised my mom to carry on with her life without worrying too much about her eyes.
We were so happy upon hearing that. During the last two years my mom had been struggling with her impaired vision. Every day she lived her life with a fear of completely losing her sight. Thankfully, those days have gone now and she can start to live her normal life again.
She can do things without asking someone to help or to guide her when she wants to go out. She is even able to read again, so every morning she will start her day by reading her Bible and watching sermons on TV. She says reading Bible and books about teachings Jesus really help to build up her faith and bring her closer to God.
I certainly agree with that, so adding some new items to her religious books collection is already on my mind. Good God books can help us to understand more about God. What He wants to do in our lives. What His plan on us.
We can see where we are going with our own eyes, but only with His guidance we can be sure that the road taken is heading to the right direction. Have a blessed day everyone.
